CONCORD, CA — Two brothers from Fairfield were arrested for gang-related stabbings in Concord, which
sent two victims to hospitals.
Ramon M. Cobos, 22, remains behind bars at the Martinez Detention
Facility in lieu of $1 million bond.
The second suspect is 25-year-old Cristian Cobos, who is no longer listed in custody.
Concord patrol officers responded to the reported stabbings on May 6, which happened at
approximately 3 p.m.
The stabbings occurred on Willow Pass Road, near Market Street.
Two adult male victims were transported to nearby hospitals to receive medical treatment. Both of the stabbing
suspects fled before officers arrived at the crime scene.
Detectives from the Concord PD violence suppression unit identified the two brothers as the suspects.
“The motive for the stabbings was a dispute over graffiti tagging between rival gang members,”
Concord police said in a prepared statement.
With assistance from the Fairfield Police Department, Concord detectives searched a residence in
Fairfield. The two brothers were placed under arrest on May 13. “The Contra Costa County District
Attorney’s Office filed attempted murder charges on both suspects.”
Older brother, Cristian Cobos, was initially arrested on a bench warrant for failing to appear for a prior
misdemeanor charge.
He has various prior arrests on his record for firearm possession, assault,
battery, street terrorism, and making threats of violence. He has been arrested 11 times since 2018.’
