Humboldt County Man Arrested for Alleged Theft of Industrial Copper Wire

ARCATA, CA  —  “On May 1, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a report detailing the theft of industrial copper wire valued at tens of thousands of dollars, occurring over several weeks prior to the report.

Following a thorough investigation led by an HCSO Community Services Officer, a suspect was identified. On May 11, HCSO deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Warren Creek Road, Arcata. During the search, authorities recovered a substantial quantity of stolen copper wire and tools used in the commission of the crime.

Brent John Holdridge, 59, of Arcata, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for the following charges:

  • Burglary—PC 459
  • Grand Theft—PC 487(a)
  • Possession of Stolen Property—PC 496(a)

The HCSO commends the diligent efforts of its personnel in resolving this case and remains committed to protecting the community from property crimes.
