West PACT Arrests Probationer in Riverside for Possession of Illegal Firearms and Narcotics

RIVERSIDE, CA  —  “Our West PACT (Post-Release Accountability & Compliance Team) has observed a growing trend of people on probation in other counties residing in Riverside and falling out of compliance with their release terms. One such individual is 38-year-old Richard Allen Soria, who is currently on probation out of Orange County.

As part of West PACT’s responsibility to conduct compliance checks on those on parole, probation, and post-release community supervision, a recent search was conducted at Mr. Soria’s Riverside residence. Despite the conditions of his probation and his status as a convicted felon prohibiting him from owning or possessing firearms, several unregistered firearms were discovered at the home. Some of these weapons are also illegal to possess under California law.

He wasn’t home during the search, but Mr. Soria seemed to realize he was in trouble. West PACT eventually caught up with him and arrested him, along with suspected methamphetamine he had in his possession.

West PACT remains committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe by holding those on supervised release accountable, whether it’s their second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth… you get the point. At some stage, responsibility has to kick in for success to even be an option.”
