Woodland Police Arrest Suspect in Series of Downtown Burglaries
WOODLAND, CA — “Over the past two weeks, several local establishments in Woodland, particularly in the downtown area, have been targeted in a series of burglaries. Thanks to active participation from our community—including sharing posts on social media and providing critical surveillance footage—officers successfully identified a suspect.
This weekend, Woodland Police secured a $150,000 arrest warrant for 33-year-old Ramon David Cuellar, a Woodland resident.
Last night, just after 9 PM, alert officers patrolling near East Oak Street and Johnston Street spotted Cuellar as a passenger in a vehicle. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, Cuellar fled on foot but was quickly apprehended in the backyard of a residence on the 1300 block of Dodds Drive.
Cuellar was arrested and booked into the County Jail on his warrant, along with additional charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of a peace officer.
This case underscores the incredible impact we achieve when our community collaborates closely with law enforcement. Many of the targeted establishments are family-owned, small shops that form the heart of our community. The dedication of our officers, combined with your vigilance and cooperation, continues to make Woodland a safer place for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership. This investigation is ongoing, and we will keep you updated as additional information becomes available.”
