Sutter County Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest, Multiple Narcotics Seized

NICOLAUS, CA  —  “On April 26, 2025, around 11:00pm, Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of HWY-99, just north of Riego Road. Once contacted, a records check revealed that the driver was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and was searchable, and the passenger, 25-year-old Alex Kirkland of Sacramento, had three out of county warrants.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, deputies located roughly 3.5oz of fentanyl in powder form, 130 fentanyl pills, MDMA, psychedelic mushrooms, acid, heroin and methamphetamine. After further investigation, it was found that the narcotics belonged to the passenger, Kirkland.

Kirkland was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Sutter County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, narcotic sales, and her out of county warrants.
