A Live Oak man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a physical altercation in which he allegedly brandished a knife.

Around 8 PM on October 1, Sutter County deputies responded to Tiff’s Market on Highway 99 to investigate a reported physical altercation involving a knife, arriving just as the suspect — later identified as 55-year-old Hector Jurado Jr. — was leaving in his vehicle.

Other deputies soon spotted Jurado traveling on Larkin Road and began a pursuit, but called it off due to the location and potential safety risk to pedestrians.

Deputies say the victim in the incident had already made it to a hospital by the time they arrived, with injuries that turned out to be non life-threatening.

Jurado was again located three days later, on October 4, and arrested after another short pursuit. He remains in custody at the Sutter County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, evading a police officer, and resisting arrest.
