Suspect:
Reynaldo Jonathan Verduzco-Gonzalez, San Diego County Resident

On April 21, 2025 at approximately 0945 Hours, an Officer with the Porterville Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle failed to yield to the Officer, and fled. The vehicle ultimately collided with a concrete subdivision sign at the intersection of Porter Creek and Westwood Street, which rendered the vehicle inoperable. The subject fled from the vehicle, and as a result Officers arrived and began to saturate the area in an attempt to locate the subject. As Officers checked the abandoned vehicle for additional subjects, none were located However, Officers did locate a loaded handgun in the vehicle.

A short time later Officers in the area observed a subject matching the description of the suspect leaving the area in a separate vehicle. This separate vehicle was later determined to have been stolen from a residence in the 900 block of North Jennifer Way, after the suspect had entered the occupied residence and stole the keys to the vehicle.

Officers located the aforementioned vehicle and attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle, at which time the subject again failed to yield and lead officers on a pursuit. The vehicle pursuit ensued in the county and was ultimately located inside the Tule River unoccupied in the area of Road 204 and Road 160. Porterville Police Department Officers and Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were able to locate the suspect, and he was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Reynaldo Johnathan Verduzco Gonzalez who was from the San Diego area. Verduzco was found to be a convicted felon and was also wanted for an out of state Felony warrant as well.

Verduzco was arrested for Felony Evading, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Concealed Loaded Weapon in a Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Vehicle Theft, Home Invasion, and Obstructing or Delaying a Peace Officer. Verduzco was booked into Tulare County South County Detention Facility with a total bail of $75,000.00.
