Traffic Stop leads to Drug Bust

LOOMIS, CA  — “Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Mercedes SUV traveling along Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis for a vehicle code violation. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Artez Webb of North Carolina, was found to have a suspended driver’s license.

During the April 12 stop, a deputy observed, in plain view, an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. During a search of the SUV, deputies discovered approximately two ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, packaging materials, a digital scale, and a loaded, unregistered handgun.

Webb was arrested and booked into jail on multiple charges, including possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of narcotics, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of psilocybin for sale, and possession of an unregistered firearm.”
