Stolen Car Suspect Nabbed After Failed Escape in Roseville

ROSEVILLE, CA —  “On March 6th, a detective in plain clothes was following up with a Citrus Heights resident who had tracked their stolen vehicle to Roseville—only hours after it was taken.
While chatting with the victim and watching RING camera footage, the detective noticed something… or rather someone—the suspect, casually sitting on a bench near the stolen car.
He called for some friends in uniform to come say hi… As units arrived, the suspect decided sitting on a bench, near the car you just stole, was not a such good idea.

He decided running might be a better option. Unfortunately for him, his “getaway plan” didn’t factor in gravity—turns out, sprinting is a lot harder when you’re also trying to keep a gun from falling out of your waistband.

In the end, physics won, and so did our officers AGAIN! One solid tackle sent the suspect (and his gun) to the ground, safely ending the chase. He was arrested on multiple charges, including:
– Stolen vehicle
– Felon in possession of a firearm
– Drug possession
– Burglary tools
– And last but not least, not being able to outrun the cops (aka resisting arrest).

Moral of the story? If you’re going to commit crimes, at least work on your sprint speed first. Or better yet, just don’t commit crimes.”
