Two Teenagers Arrested for Filing False Police Report Following Stabbing Incident
WOODLAND, CA — “Two teenagers were arrested and released for making a false police report in connection with a report of a stabbing that happened at an immigration rally on Monday night. As the rally was wrapping up, officers responded to reports of a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed in the leg. The victim and his friend reported at the time the unknown suspect had fled prior to police arrival. The boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated.
Detectives spent hours collecting and viewing video footage to find a suspect and determine what led to the incident. Investigators discovered that the person who called 911 was the victim’s teenage friend who was with him during the incident. Turns out the boys were playing with a pocketknife when the suspect accidentally stabbed his friend. The boy responsible for the stabbing later admitted that he called 911 for help but was also worried about getting in trouble, so the victim and the suspect lied to police and fire personnel about how the injury happened.
The boys were arrested and released to their parents for filing a false police report. We also want to reassure our community that this incident was not related to the immigration protest. #WoodlandPD (VLD)”
