Three Arrested in Connection with Robbery Investigation in Butte County

FOREST RANCH, CA — “On January 22, 2025, at approximately 10:41 a.m., Daniel Sarmientogodoy, age 26, of Los Angeles, California called 911. Sarmientogodoy told BCSO dispatch he “was in a little bit of trouble and there is a robbery going on nearby.” The dispatcher determined Sarmientogodoy’s phone was in the area of Summer Place Road, Forest Ranch. Deputies immediately responded to the area and contacted Sarmientogodoy.
Deputies located an illegal assault rifle near Sarmientogodoy. Sarmientogodoy was placed under arrest. Deputies and detectives immediately began conducting an investigation. During the investigation detectives determined multiple individuals were involved in an armed robbery at an illegal marijuana grow located on All Seasons Drive, Forest Ranch.
With the assistance of a BCSO helicopter, deputies and detectives spent multiple hours searching for the outstanding suspects. During the search, Jorge Llantada, age 27, of Van Nuys, was contacted. Deputies located evidence Llantada was involved in the robbery. Llantada was placed under arrest. Detectives also contacted Gerardo Chequerbazanez, age 26, of Los Angeles. Chequerbazanez was in possession of an illegal assault rifle when he was contacted. Chequerbazanez was placed under arrest.
During the investigation three other individuals were contacted. Detectives located evidence the three individuals had been working at an illegal marijuana grow on All Seasons Drive, Forest Ranch. Detectives located evidence at least one of the individuals conspired with Sarmientogodoy, Llantada, and Chequerbazanez, to conduct a robbery and steal marijuana from the All Seasons Drive property.
Based on evidence located, detectives believe the robbery was interrupted by the marijuana owner. When the robbery was interrupted, Sarmientogodoy, Llantada, and Chequerbazanez fled from the property.
On the morning of January 23, 2025, detectives served a search warrant at the All Seasons Drive property. Detectives located approximately 2,000 pounds of marijuana in cardboard boxes.
