Man Arrested for Allegedly Robbing Pharmacy at Gunpoint in Merced

MERCED, Calif. — Police have reportedly arrested an individual on suspicion of robbing a local pharmacy at gunpoint.
According to a press release by the Merced Police Department, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at CVS on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 14.
The suspect, initially described as a Hispanic male wearing dark clothing, allegedly held a store clerk at gunpoint and stole an unspecified amount of cash from the register before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
That afternoon, detectives located an individual matching the suspect’s description on the 1400 block of Louise Avenue. The individual was wearing the same clothing and had the same bicycle as seen in surveillance footage.
Detectives reportedly also discovered a “large amount” of cash and an airsoft handgun in the individual’s possession.
The individual, identified as 26-year-old Miguel Valencia, was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and booked at the Merced County jail.
