CORTE MADERA — Two suspects face manslaughter and narcotics-related charges in
connection with a drug overdose death. Raul A. Beltran, 25, and Olivia N. Peters, 22, both of
Corte Madera, were each booked at Marin County Jail.

Central Marin Police Authority officers responded January 4 shortly at 9:08 a.m. A man was
reported unconscious inside a vehicle. The victim, a 22-year-old man, was found parked on
Sunnyside Avenue in Corte Madera. Paramedics also responded and pronounced him at the
scene.

A Marin County Medical Examiner determined the victim died as a result of a suspected opioid overdose.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office joined in the ensuing investigation. Sheriff’s Office
detectives with specialized training in overdose homicides found probable cause, and
arrested Beltran and Peters on January 4. They were each held in lieu of $100,000 bond and
no longer in custody.

In a prepared statement the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said. “Both Beltran and Peters were
charged with voluntary manslaughter, as well a furnishing a controlled substance resulting in
great bodily injury.”

Both suspects were booked on suspicion of  voluntary manslaughter, infliction of great bodily injury, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and transportation/sale of a narcotic controlled substance.
