Davis Man Arrested for Homicide After Welfare Check

“On July 11, 2024, at approximately 4:40 pm, the Davis Police Department conducted a welfare check at a residence on the 900 block of J Street related to an individual who had been reported missing earlier in the afternoon by a friend. While checking the reported residence, officers located a 29-year-old female who was found to be deceased.

Officers also located the deceased person’s spouse, 37-year-old Henry Stanley, of Davis, near the residence. Stanley had an active criminal restraining order prohibiting contact with the deceased that stemmed from his arrest for domestic violence-related charges on July 9, 2024. Stanley was released on bail following the earlier arrest.

Following the investigation of the latter case, Stanley was arrested and lodged at the Yolo County Jail for homicide. This investigation is ongoing, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are awaiting additional information from the Yolo County Coroner’s Office regarding the cause and manner of death. We are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation and will release further information as new details emerge.”
