Arrest Made in Impaired Driving Incident: PSPD Responds to Multiple Collisions

“On Friday, May 17, at approximately 10:17 PM, PSPD officers responded to an incident involving a maroon SUV near the 100 block of Museum Way. The vehicle collided with barricades near the Marilyn Monroe statue before driving eastbound across N. Palm Canyon Drive. The vehicle continued along a walkway between businesses in the vicinity.

Upon reaching the end of the walkway, the vehicle collided with the rear window of a business. The driver attempted to turn the vehicle around, causing extensive damage to the interior of another business. After returning to Palm Canyon Drive, the vehicle collided with a car parked along the curb. The driver then pushed the parked car out of the way and fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle was located in the 300 block of S. Palm Canyon Drive. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Jose Uzaga, has been booked on charges of Hit and Run (20002 CVC), Vandalism (594(a)(1) PC), and DUI Drugs (23152(f) CVC).
