Stockton Police Arrest Primary Suspect in Fatal Shooting

“On April 6, 2024, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Officers responded to the area of Wood Duck Circle/Quail Lakes Drive on a report of a solo vehicle collision. Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle on the median and a male victim, in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide Detectives have been notified and are responding to the scene to take over the investigation.

Homicide Arrest Update:

Stockton Police Detectives have continued to work diligently and conduct follow-up on this case since the homicide occurred. An arrest warrant was issued for Jadari Benson, 18, in connection to the homicide. On May 6, 2024, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and detained Benson, without incident, for the arrest warrant. Benson was arrested in connection to the homicide and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

This remains an ongoing investigation.”
