A Shasta County man has reportedly been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and a second individual.

According to a press release by the county Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 7500 block of Deschutes Road in Palo Cedro to investigate a report of domestic violence on the night of Friday, April 26.

The suspect in the assault was identified as Zackary Stevenson, 33. Stevenson is reportedly accused of attacking his girlfriend while she was holding their infant child, and is further accused of attacking a 16-year-old juvenile.

Deputies located Stevenson in his vehicle elsewhere on the property. Stevenson reportedly locked the doors to the vehicle and hid himself under a blanket, refusing to comply with orders to exit the vehicle or show his hands.

“Shasta County Sheriff’s Office K-9 ‘Duke’ was utilized to take Stevenson into custody,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Stevenson was arrested and, once treated and cleared at an area hospital, was booked at the Shasta County jail on suspicion of felony domestic violence, felony child abuse, and resisting arrest.
