Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Opens Investigation into Armed Robbery, Assault in Hopland

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into an armed robbery that took place on Hopland over the weekend.

In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office announced that it had begun an investigation into an armed robbery that had taken place on the 700 block of Highway 175 in Hopland on the night of Sunday, April 21.

Two individuals dressed in all black and wearing masks had allegedly robbed several people at gunpoint, assaulted them, and then fled the area on foot, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the scene and spoke with four victims, who relayed that they had been returning to their vehicle when they were accosted by two masked subjects armed with a firearm. The victims were allegedly ordered to the ground, assaulted, and robbed.

Two of the victims reportedly had to be hospitalized for injuries sustained during the assault.
