Domestic violence fireworks on the 4th

A female was physically assaulted on the morning of July 4, requiring treatment from the Laytonville Fire Department and investigation from Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies.

Apparently the 42-year-old victim’s years-long romantic relationship with 50-year-old Aaron Salvador Gomez had gone south, resulting in her visible bloodshed.

The assault had taken place at a residence in the 59000 block of Bell Springs Road.

The way it was told, an argument began that morning and the victim tried to leave but Gomez grabbed her arm.

Then, as she later pulled off in her vehicle, Gomez followed her on a dirt bike. When she stopped driving, Gomez reached in, grabbed her by the hair, and hit her with his fist.

The next day Gomez was arrested and charged with domestic violence battery, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and false imprisonment.

The suspect was booked in the Mendocino County Jail with a bail of $30,000.
