“On February 28th, around 11:00 PM, officers were dispatched to numerous gunshots heard from Legion Park (835 S Hutchins Street). It was also reported that two people were seen in the park at the time of the gunshots. Officers checked the area and located Justin Ochoa (23) and Brandon Pierce (23) in the park. Ultimately, Pierce was found to be in possession of a loaded, short-barreled rifle that was concealed on him. Officers also located a discarded bag inside the park that contained a loaded handgun. The bag was determined to belong to Pierce. Pierce and Ochoa were both in possession of a controlled substance. Pierce was booked for weapon, drug, and municipal charges. Ochoa was booked for drug and municipal charges.”
