“Approximately two weeks ago, deputies received several calls regarding a subject in Granite Bay. Ultimately, the subject was located near the 8500 block of Sheba Court in Granite Bay. During the encounter, deputies discovered a handgun, approximately one ounce of methamphetamine, and checks belonging to other people. 44-year-old Bernabe Peralta was arrested for possession of all these items.
This incident highlights the risks that deputies and all law enforcement officers face on a daily basis. What may seem like a routine call for service regarding a suspicious person can quickly escalate when encountering someone armed with a weapon. Thankfully, in this instance, the suspect was safely taken into custody, but unfortunately, this isn’t always the outcome.”
