On December 26, 2023, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a carjacking that occurred during the early morning hours near the intersection of Kiefer Boulevard and Tallyho Drive. The victim reported being approached by two suspects who brandished a firearm and began physically assaulting him. The victim was hit with a firearm in the head at least one time during the incident. The suspects stole the victim’s personal belongings and his vehicle.
Robbery detectives identified 35-year-old Jermaine Edwards as one of the suspects and ultimately obtained an arrest warrant related to the case. Edwards is a previously convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.
On February 28, 2024, Edwards was placed under arrest for the carjacking warrant and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine.
Edwards was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail for the carjacking warrant as well as firearm and narcotic-related charges.
