Two Arrested for Suspected Bank Robbery

SACRAMENTO—Police have arrested a Rancho Cordova man and his East Palo Alto brother in connection with a Citrus Heights bank robbery on Saturday, October 25.

Citrus Heights Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located on the 6000 block of Sunrise Blvd. across from the Sunrise Mall complex. A suspect entered the bank and demanded money at approximately 12:30 p.m.  Witnesses say the suspect brandished a gun.

He then fled the area southbound on Sunrise Blvd. in a dark vehicle with an additional occupant. The license plate of the vehicle was reported stolen. Officers notified Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department of the crime and the direction the vehicle was headed.  A short time later the Sacramento Sheriff deputies found the unoccupied stolen vehicle.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. officers located and arrested Adam Ruben Silva, 30 of East Palo Alto, and Eriberto Silva, 31 of Rancho Cordova. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police said it’s not immediately known what role each brother reportedly played in the bank robbery. Both of them, according to records, had prior arrests. Adam has been charged at least three times since 2010 for being under the influence of narcotics. Eriberto, however, has a much greater history, with at least 15 arrests on record since 2007, mostly on drug and being under the influence charges, along with resisting arrest, attempted burglary, and disobeying a domestic relations court order.
