Moreno Valley Deputies Uncover Multi-State Retail Theft Ring

“On February 6, 2024, the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) began investigating a multi-state organized retail crime and trailer cargo theft ring. On February 16, 2024, the Moreno Valley SET deputies executed a search warrant at a retail storefront located in the 2200 block of East Florida Avenue in the City of Hemet, leading to the recovery of stolen goods valued at over 1.5 million dollars.

The seizure included over 200 pallets of stolen merchandise, ranging from high-end electronics and computer equipment to baby essentials and standard toiletries. A stolen trailer filled with merchandise and a semi-truck suspected to have been used in the thefts were also recovered. Two individuals detained at the storefront, 24-year-old Amritpal Singh and 24-year-old Jagdeep Singh Singh, residents of Hemet, were arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for grand theft and possession of stolen property.
