“The Redwood City Police had identified a vehicle that was involved in a criminal reckless driving incident. The plate of that vehicle was entered into the Flock camera database. On January 28th at around 8:07 PM, the Flock system alerted officers that the vehicle was parked in the 600 block of Veterans Boulevard. Officers responded there and made contact with the two occupants of the vehicle. Due to the prior instance of the vehicle being involved in a criminal reckless driving incident, it was subject to being towed.

When officers were conducting an inventory of the vehicle’s contents, they located a loaded Springfield 9mm handgun in the car. They also found parts to an assault rifle as well as a 100 round drum magazine for one. Redwood City resident Edgar Franco (35) was one of the subjects contacted. The investigation determined that the handgun and other items were his. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for being a felon in possession of loaded firearm, for possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number and for committing a felony while on bail.”
