“On January 19, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, a Deputy was patrolling the area of Coal Mine Road, in Ione, when he attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and led deputies on pursuit for approximately 10 miles, traveling on Stony Creek Road, into the City of Jackson. Officers from the Jackson Police Department successfully deployed spike strips on the suspect vehicle near Argonaut High School. The suspect continued for about one more mile before yielding in the driveway of a residence.

Officers from the Jackson Police Department, Sutter Creek Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol responded to assist in successfully taking the driver of the vehicle into custody. The suspect was identified as 44 year-old Thomas Trehearne of Pioneer, who was on active Post Release Community Supervision and had recently removed his ankle monitor. Trehearne was arrested for felony evading, resisting arrest, and a violation of the terms of his supervision.

We are so grateful to our local allied agencies! Their quick and effective response to our request for assistance led to a safe outcome for everyone involved.”
