“Officers and Arson Investigators arrested a transient parolee this morning for setting a fire. Around 8:30 a.m., our Dispatch Center received calls of a possible arson that just occurred at Chicago Avenue and Marlborough Avenue. A local transient was seen setting fire to a wooden pallet, which then spread to the surrounding shrubs and telephone pole before being extinguished by the Riverside Fire Department. The flames also melted the housing for the wires on the telephone pole.

A Motor Officer got there quickly and was able locate and detain the transient suspect, who was identified as 39-year-old Sidney Commodore and currently on parole for home invasion. An Arson Investigator with Riverside Fire responded and assisted with the investigation, and Mr. Commodore was booked into jail for arson and violating his parole.”
