Suspect on E-Bike Arrested in Cathedral City Following Coordinated Monitoring by Palm Springs Police

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — “Looks like someone was hoping for a chase. Unfortunately for him, technology had other plans.

After Sergeant Torres observed a rider on an e-bike committing multiple Vehicle Code violations and appearing to bait officers into a pursuit through downtown, a coordinated plan was developed using the Impact Team, Detectives, and the Coachella Valley Real-Time Intelligence Center (CVRTIC).

Instead of giving the suspect the pursuit he seemed to be looking for, officers used drone technology and coordinated tactics to safely monitor his movements into Cathedral City. When he stopped at a local park and stepped off the e-bike, Detectives moved in and safely took him into custody after a brief struggle.
While seated in a PSPD patrol vehicle, the suspect apparently wasn’t thrilled with the accommodations and shattered a window, adding felony vandalism to his list of charges.

He was arrested for reckless driving, resisting an officer, and felony vandalism.
Great work by the Impact Team, Detectives, and CVRTIC for using patience, teamwork, and smart tactics to bring the incident to a safe conclusion”
