WALNUT CREEK— Detectives from Walnut Creek collaborating with Oakland police arrested two robbery suspects on December 8. One of the suspects remains in custody without bail. The second suspect is no longer listed in the county jail roster, and a third suspect is still being sought.

Walnut Creek officers responded to a report of a robbery on December 5 shortly after 7:30 p.m. Three men wearing masks and black clothing accosted two victims. This robbery happened downtown on Bonanza Street. One of the suspects was carrying a handgun.

One of the victims had their wallet stolen. The second victim suffered pistol-whipping and their bag was stolen. In a prepared statement the Walnut Creek Police Department said. “The victim who was assaulted sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.”

WCPD detectives arrested Daymonee Johnson, 18, of Oakland, and Elias Alcorn, 19, of Oakland. Both  men were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Johnson remains in custody, but Alcorn is no longer in custody. Incidentally, Alcorn was previously arrested in October on firearms charges.

Now Johnson and Alcorn each face charges for –

  • Robbery PC 211
  • Assault with a deadly weapon PC 245
  • Conspiracy to commit a crime PC 182(A)(1)

The collaboration between the law enforcement agencies proved advantageous in the ongoing investigation. The getaway car used by the suspects was identified and located. Plus, the victims’ stolen property was recovered and returned to them.

However, a third suspect is still being sought by police. Anyone with information regarding the robbery  can call the Walnut Creek Police Department at 925-943-5844.
