On the evening of June 22, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Galt Police Officers observed a wanted suspect, identified as Johnny Gordillo, 40, of Galt, driving in the vicinity of E. Stockton Blvd/Ashboro Ln. The officers recognized Gordillo, who had an outstanding felony warrant, and attempted to conduct a routine stop. However, instead of complying, Gordillo chose to evade law enforcement, leading to a vehicle pursuit.

As officers pursued Gordillo, he recklessly fled in his vehicle, exhibiting a blatant disregard for public safety. Tragically, during the pursuit, Gordillo collided with an innocent bystander’s vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles involved. The impact rendered Gordillo’s vehicle immobile due to the extensive damage incurred.

Law enforcement swiftly apprehended Gordillo near the area of E. Stockton Blvd/Walnut Ave, ensuring the safety of the community and bringing an end to the dangerous pursuit. Upon searching Gordillo’s vehicle, officers made a significant discovery—nearly a half pound of methamphetamine, along with other evidence indicating drug sales.

Following his arrest, Gordillo was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he now faces a series of charges. These include felony evading of a peace officer, evading a peace officer on the wrong side of the roadway, possession of a controlled substance for sale, hit-and-run, and his preexisting felony warrant. Due to the severity of his charges, Gordillo is currently ineligible for bail.

As Gordillo remains in custody, law enforcement officials will continue their investigation into his activities and connections to the drug trade. The seizure of a substantial amount of methamphetamine underscores the ongoing battle against illicit substances in the region.
