Murder Suspect Arrested in Chino

CHINO, CA – On April 2, 2023, at 2:07 a.m., Chino Police Officers received a report of a possible dead body in the 5400 block of Philadelphia Avenue. Responding officers found a male subject in the parking lot who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as Philip Hernandez, a 51-year-old resident of Chino.

The officers determined that the victim was the victim of a homicide. The investigation began and it was revealed that Taylor Sanchez, a 21-year-old resident of Chino, was involved in the shooting.

On April 3, 2023, at 4:15 pm, Detectives located Sanchez in the 13300 block of Central Avenue and took him into custody. A search warrant was also executed at Sanchez’s residence.

Following the arrest, Sanchez was booked at West Valley Detention Center on charges of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. The investigation is still ongoing and the Detectives are following up on additional leads.
