Man Reportedly Arrested on Trespassing, Weapons and Drug Charges

RIVERSIDE — On December 7, 2022, the Public Safety Engagement Team reportedly made contact with a person who was camping near the railroad behind the 3500 block of Merrill Avenue, according to police in a media release.

During contact, they found that the homeless man had a loaded handgun and illegal drugs in his possession, police said.

Zachary Spence (36) was arrested on suspicion of felony weapon and drug violations, along with trespassing on railroad property and camping on public property, both misdemeanors.

He was booked into jail and his bail is set at $25,000.
