IRVINE — On November 10, 2022, a man was captured on surveillance video seemingly stealing multiple pairs of sunglasses from a local shop.
The individual then went back into the same store and booked an appointment using his real name.
While scheduling the appointment, the suspect stole three more pairs of designer sunglasses. The business then requested Irvine Police Department to be present at the suspect’s appointment.
The suspect, identified as Aaron Taharka Thomas (45) of Inglewood, was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of grand theft and burglary.
While searching Thomas’s car, police reportedly found additional pairs of sunglasses that were stolen from another retail store.
