Modesto, CA – November 11, 2022 – Modesto Police Officers responded to a 911 call of a reported subject shooting a firearm in a parking lot off Coffee Rd. As the officers arrived at the scene more calls came in to the 911 dispatch center to report more shots being fired in the area.
Responding Officers found an injured adult male in a vehicle. The victim had at least one apparent gunshot wound. Officers called for emergency services to assist the injured man. Sadly he passed away from his injuries before the ambulance arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit arrived at the scene to take lead of the investigation. As the investigation continued suspect Lance Reyes was identified. Reyes is a 27 year old Modesto resident. The Street Gang Unit made the arrest and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Reyes was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for homicide on Saturday morning.
