A Fresno man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to an alleged stabbing at an apartment building.

36-year-old Manuel Bracker was identified as the suspect in the Wednesday, October 26, stabbing of a 56-year-old man at an apartment building on East Auto Center Drive, according to a Fresno PD press release.

Police say Bracker, who is unhoused, had entered the building, approached the victim — who was in a conference room with several others — and stabbed him multiple times in the back. Employees then chased Bracker out of the building.

Officers quickly located Bracker on the embankment of Highway 41 and took him into custody without incident. Based on preliminary investigation and statements from Bracker and the victim, police determined that the two did not know each other.

Bracker was ultimately booked at the Fresno County jail on suspicion of attempted homicide.
