Four people, including one juvenile, have reportedly been arrested after the discovery of a large amount of stolen mail and other items during a traffic stop in Mendocino County.

Around 1:30 in the morning on Friday, September 9, Ukiah PD officers and Sheriff’s deputies conducted a joint enforcement stop on the 500 block of North Dora Street. The authorities reportedly discovered numerous stolen documents in the vehicle — mail, checks, and other personal documents — belonging to people living in various areas of Mendocino County.

Authorities seized a total of fifty-three stolen checks, totaling over $60,000 in value, and some of which had already been forged in the names of the occupants of the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The four occupants were identified as Marlen Nunez-Alvarez (19), Victor Martinez (22), Elijah Devinegomes (19), and a 17-year-old juvenile. All four were arrested on suspicion of grand theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy.

The three adult suspects were booked at the Mendocino County jail on $15,000 bail each, while the juvenile suspect was booked at the Mendocino County juvenile hall.
