A homeless man from Anaheim has been arrested for the stabbing death of another Anaheim homeless man, 53-year-old Jason Randall Dahl.

The suspect, 36-year-old Rolando Echenique, was located the day after Dahl’s body was found. He was booked at Anaheim Detention Facility for murder. Echenique’s bail was set at $1 million.

Someone noticed Dahl’s body in a field in the area of Phoenix Club Drive and Sanderson Avenue on the morning of May 11th. They contacted Anaheim police, who found Dahl there and confirmed that he was truly deceased. “Dahl had sustained at least one stab wound,” said Sgt. Jacob Gallacher.

On May 12th, officers located Echenique near the place where Dahl’s body was found. He was arrested without incident.

“Detectives have declined to discuss possible motives or how Echenique and Dahl might have known each other,” said Sgt. Gallagher.
