A Palm Springs man was arrested for burglary after the home owner caught him in the act using a home surveillance system.

The home owner received an alert from the video surveillance system shortly before 4:45 PM on January 21st. The owner remotely observed a man unlawfully enter the home, located in the 900 block of Crescent Drive in Palm Springs.

The owner subsequently called 911 to report the burglary and a description of the suspect. Palm Springs police officers “arrived within minutes and surrounded the residence,” according to the release. Suspect Alex Perdriel (41, Palm Springs) “exited the front door and surrendered to officers.” No property had been taken or damaged.

Perdriel was charged with burglary booked into Smith Correctional Facility in Banning with a bail set at $35,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 5th, according to inmate records.
