“Recently the Truckee Police Department received numerous reports of overnight thefts from unlocked vehicles within the Glenshire neighborhood.
Our officers investigated each incident and compiled evidence from all locations, to include video surveillance. The following week our officers spent long hours conducting extra patrols in the area, ultimately identifying two juvenile suspects believed to be responsible for the thefts.
A search warrant was then served at a residence in the Riverview Homes Subdivision where numerous items of stolen property was recovered. Detectives authored arrest warrants that were granted through the Nevada County Courts. One suspect was arrested and released to his mother.
The other suspect is still outstanding. Due to their age, both names are being withheld from public release. The Truckee Police Department is thankful for the support of the members of our community who assisted in the investigation. Please also use this as a reminder to always remove your valuables and lock the doors of your vehicles when parked overnight.”
