Merced Police Arrest Suspect for Felony assault and Elder Abuse

“On 4/26/22 at approximately 9:17 in the morning, officers responded to a report an assault at W. 27th St. and H St. in the City of Merced.

Upon arrival they located an elderly male with a laceration to his head and his face covered in blood.

Upon speaking with him it was discovered that he was walking along the Bear Creek footpath when an unknown subject picked up a large rock and struck him in the head with it.

The attacker then attempted to throw the rock again at the victim but missed.

The suspect identified as Angela Carrillo (18) was positively identified by the victim and witness.

After investigation, the attack was determined to be completely unprovoked. Carrillo was arrested and booked on felony assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse.
