MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER AFTER PUSHING WOMAN INTO PATH OF MOVING TRAIN

RIVERSIDE, CA – On Monday, April 11, 2022 at approximately 6:35 a.m., the City of Riverside’s Public Safety Communications Center received calls that a transient man and woman were fighting next to the railroad tracks at Madison Street, located in the Casa Blanca neighborhood of Riverside, and the woman was struck by an oncoming train. Riverside Police Officers responded and located the man involved nearby where he was safely detained. They also found a deceased female who appeared to have been struck by a passing train.

Detectives with the Robbery – Homicide Unit, along with Specialists from the Forensics Unit, responded and assumed the investigation. They have been assisted by the Riverside County Sheriff – Coroner’s Office. The victim’s identity is pending notification of family and conclusion of the Coroners’ investigation.

The preliminary investigation determined Kevin Errol Lewis, 41-years-old of Riverside, and the female adult victim were engaged in a verbal argument that became physical, during which Mr. Lewis pushed the victim into the moving train and killing her.

Mr. Lewis was arrested and later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of murder, domestic violence, and several outstanding warrants for theft and narcotics violations. He is currently being held without bail.

This investigation is still ongoing and there are no further details to release at this time.
