The Fresno Police Department has announced twelve arrests and the confiscation of twelve firearms amid ongoing efforts to curb gang activity in the city.

Late last month, the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) Metro Unit confiscated twelve firearms from gang members and their associates — all illegally possessed, some loaded and equipped with high-capacity magazines, and two high-powered rifles, police said.

The Department has not announced the names of any of those arrested, but suspect that many of the firearms were intended to be used to carry out gang-related shootings.
