Laptops, other Stolen Property Recovered, 2 Suspects Arrested

LIVERMORE — Two men have been arrested and police recovered stolen property—seven laptop computers, one passport and a checkbook. One of the suspects has 19 prior arrests, including nine arrests last year.

Zejon L. Washington, 24 of Oakland, and Aaron W. Young, 21 of Richmond, were arrested February 4. They were apprehended on El Charro Road near eastbound Interstate 580. Both suspects face multiple potential charges, pending review of the case.

Police were alerted concerning a suspicious car at San Francisco Premium Outlets mall. Its passenger door was open while driving through the parking lot, as a passenger peered into parked cars.

Officers observed the car leaving the parking lot and attempted a traffic stop. The driver drove for about half mile before stopping. A search was conducted. Stolen property and burglary tools were found inside the trunk.

Washington the passenger who is a parolee was arrested for his 20 th time. For his latest arrest, he was booked for loitering with intent to commit crime, and possession of burglary tools.

Young who was driving was booked for loitering with intent to commit a crime and for evading an officer. Young has one prior arrest on his record for burglary, conspiracy and receiving stolen property in 2021.

Last year, Washington was arrested for burglary, carjacking, robbery, and bringing a controlled substance into jail. In 2020, he was arrested for thefts, possession of burglary tools, and other offenses. He was arrested for possession of burglar’s tools and parole violation in 2019.

In 2015, Washington was arrested for carjacking, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of ammunition and conspiracy. Prior to this he was a ward of juvenile court.
