Attempted Murder, Assault, Street Gang Terrorism, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Ammo

“The Napa Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) has been investigating the stabbing of five victims that occurred in downtown Napa on 7/2/21.

On 12/1/21 at 4:00 PM, Napa PD SEU Detectives were able to identify three Norteno gang members as the responsible suspects in the previous stabbing. SEU Detectives located and arrested Edgar Barboza in the 700 block of Trancas St.

Additional investigative leads allowed detectives to serve search warrants in the 100 block of Homewood Ave and 100 block of Dewitt Ave. Members of the Napa Sheriff’s Office and Napa Special Investigations Bureau assisted Napa PD with locating and arresting Daniel Herrera in the 100 block of Dewitt Ave. A handgun, ammunition and Norteno gang paraphernalia were also located in the residence.

Barboza and Herrera were transported and booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections for Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Street Gang Terrorism. Herrera was also booked for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.”
