DUI Motorist Was Driving On Rims, CHP Says

A Yountville man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to evade police in a car with two completely flat tires.

Arthur Torres, 56, was driving his Nissan 350Z on Highway 29 south of Yountville. Officers said smoke was coming up from the right side of Torres’ vehicle, which had two tires worn down to the rim.

California Highway Patrol tried to pull Torres over, but say he attempted to speed away – running several stops signs on the deflated tires.

Officers caught up with Torres and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and failing to yield.
