Woman Arrested for SUV Theft, Hit and Run Accident with a Motorcyclist

SAN RAFAEL — A woman was arrested following an investigation of a hit and run accident that injured a motorcyclist in October. The suspect 28-year-old Coraima A. Pampin-Pasos allegedly hit the motorcycle while driving a stolen SUV and fled.

The accident occurred October 16 near the intersection of Mission Avenue and Hetherton Street. The motorcyclist suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from a business, near the scene of the accident. This enabled San Rafael police to identify the suspect vehicle and ultimately the suspected hit and run driver.

Pampin-Pasos who works as a cook was subsequently contacted by authorities. She purportedly admitted being involved in a collision and leaving the scene without stopping.

On November 18 at 12:30 p.m., SRPD arrested Pampin-Pasos at a residence located on Adele Street in Novato. She was booked into Marin County Jail, where she remains in custody on open charges in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Pampin-Pasos was driving while her license was suspended for a DUI conviction. She also has previous arrests for battery and assault.

When she was most recently arrested in Novato, Pampin-Pasos was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition to a charge for hit and run with injury, Pampin-Pasos faces more charges, including vehicle theft. Plus, she faces charges for driving with a license suspended for drunk driving, controlled substance paraphernalia, and probation violation.
