The Officers attempted to stop a Ford Mustang after noticing the vehicle had no front license plate and a damaged front windshield. The driver, 32-year-old Cody Ryan Monk of Los Banos, failed to stop for the officer’s emergency lights / siren, and engaged the officers in a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit lasted approximately two minutes and concluded when Monk lost control of his vehicle in the area of Stonewood Drive and Overland Avenue, causing damage to a residential fence. Monk attempted to run from the vehicle but was quickly apprehended by the officers a short distance away.
During a search of the vehicle, Officers located a replica firearm under the driver’s seat and drug paraphernalia. Monk was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail charged with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle with disregard for public safety, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for an outstanding violation of probation warrant. Monk is currently being held without bail.
