When detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Street Team learned that a Camarillo residence had been the subject of what VCSD spokesman Sgt. Odilon Malagon described as “50 calls for service ranging from reports of suspicious subjects to reports of active narcotic activity,” they decided it was time to pay the Avenida San Antero home a little visit.

With additional reports of suspected drug overdoses at the suspect location, a search warrant was issued. On October 31, 2021, the VCSD Narcotics Street Team crew, working in concert with the VCSD’s Gang Unit served the search warrant and made contact with 47-year-old Camarillo resident Tanya Vujovich and 53-year-old Camarillo resident James Beltran. Also
contacted at the residence were Ventura residents 33-year-old Keith Cook, 41-year-old Leslie Russell, 27-year-old Brian Kruft, and 31-year-old Camille Callhan, all of whom were “deemed to be under the influence of methamphetamine.

The ensuing search of the residence, which detectives noted “was poorly kept,” lead to the discovery of significant amounts of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, all of which was seized. The totality of the circumstances and physical evidence lead the cops to conclude that “Vujovich was utilizing her residence for the purpose of unlawfully using controlled substances.

All six of the aforementioned were taken into custody, transported to Ventura County Jail, and booked on “various narcotics violations.”
