Merced Catalytic Converter Theft Arrest

Merced – Merced Police officers arrested Mario Jimenez (26) for attempted grand theft of a catalytic converter.

At 12:52 PM, Officers responded to the 3700 block of Beam Ave for a disturbance involving a suspected theft of a catalytic converter. The responding officers detained Jimenez in the nearby area.

Jimenez was identified by witnesses as the suspect who tried to steal a catalytic converter from a parked motor vehicle. A witness was able to take a photograph of Jimenez trying to cut off the vehicle component.

Jimenez was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail.
