FREMONT — Authorities located and arrested one suspect for brandishing a firearm at the Mojo Lounge. A second suspect who fired shots outside this cocktail bar remains at large.

Both suspects accompanied juveniles who were denied entry to the bar on August 8th. In response, Alejandro Soria, 24 of Fremont, allegedly brandished a handgun at a security guard.

However, the handgun was unloaded, and Soria apparently dropped a loaded magazine on the ground. That’s when Soria allegedly handed the firearm to a second suspect, who picked up the magazine and loaded the gun.

The second suspect fired the handgun in the air, before pointing it at the security guard. Next the group of individuals fled from Peralta Boulevard inside a vehicle.

Fremont detectives identified some members of this group of individuals. An arrest warrant was obtained for Soria, and detectives set up surveillance to locate him.

Soria was nabbed October 12. He was stopped in a vehicle near the intersection of Decoto Road and Paseo Padre Parkway. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered a handgun which was reported stolen.

Detectives later executed search warrants in Fremont and Newark, where another handgun, and two loaded magazines were recovered.

Soria posted $40,000 bond on October 15, and he was released from Santa Rita Jail. He presently faces six firearms related charges, pending an October 28th pre-trial court hearing.

Meanwhile, Fremont detectives have released a photograph of the second suspect who remains at large. Anyone with information can call Fremont police at 510-790-6660.
